Overview

The Sangguniang Bayan serves as the cornerstone of Alamada’s legislative branch, responsible for creating resolutions and ordinances to govern municipality. Their focus areas include managing resources for development projects, regulating land use, and ensuring essential services are delivered effectively. In essence, the Sangguniang Bayan lays the groundwork for Alamada’s progress, ensuring its development happens in a sustainable, well-organized manner, and that all residents benefit from efficient essential services.

To formulate and enact quality, responsive and competitive legislative measures towards local development and for the general welfare and the constituents.

Mandates and Functions

1.Approve ordinances and pass resolutions necessary for an efficient and effective municipal government,

2. Generate and maximize the use of resources and revenues for the development plans, program objectives and priorities of the municipality as provided for under Section 18 of RA 7160 with particular attention to agro-industrial develoment and countryside growth and progess and relative thereto.

3. Grant frachises, enact ordinances authorizing the issuance of permits or licenses, or enact ordinances levying taxes, fees and charges uon such conditions and such puroses intended to promote the general welfare of the inhabitants of the municipality.

4. Regulate activities relative to the use of land, buildings and structures within the municipality in order to promote the general welfare and for said purpose.

5. Approve ordinances which shall ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the basic services and facilities as provided for under Section 17 of RA 7160. 6. Exercise such other powers and perform such other duties and functions as my be prescribed by law or ordinances.

Services Offered

The Office of the Sangguniang Bayan pass resolutions and ordinances promoting transparency in service delivery for the general welfare of the constituents, review and approve the budget and conduct committee hearings/meetings and public hearings.
